At St. Andrew's, we use testing not only as admissions criteria but also for prescriptive teaching. Children develop at different rates socially, emotionally, physically and academically. It is important that we correctly assess your child's growth patterns so developmentally appropriate teaching and learning can ensue.

To this end, we use a Gesell Institute of Human Development certified professional to evaluate applicants four years through seven years.

For incoming students in second through fifth grade, we use the math and reading portions of the Stanford Achievement Test-Ninth Edition (SAT-9), and include a separate writing component.

SAEDS is a small cohesive school community that is comprised of successful students and satisfied parents. Our goal is to maintain and enrich our community by ensuring a mutually beneficial relationship between student ability, a parent's educational goals and the school's mission and philosophy.

The parent interview is an opportunity for parents to ask questions and define their education goals. During the interview the Head of School reviews the student evaluation, reviews school mission and philosophy and answers parent questions.

Student acceptance is based on both the evaluation results and the match between a parent's educational goals and the school's mission and philosophy.
